Arthur Yap, a well-known Singaporean poet awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1983, often uses simple language and Singlish to depict everyday Singaporean life. He published several collections, including only lines, down the line, man snake apple & other poems, and commonplace. He also wrote a collection of short stories, Noon at Five O’ Clock, and held several solo art exhibitions. Adia Tay is a singer, songwriter, poet, and author, known for her music album Kintsugi and poetry collection Close Enough. She writes stories for children, including What If the Wind Tears My Kite?, her first picture book which was both authored and illustrated by her and was shortlisted for the 2022 Hedwig Anuar Children’s Book Award.
