Are You a Cicada?

Winner of the 2015 Children's Book Award. A city boy travels to a village and hears the whistling of a cicada insect for the first time. His mother tells him that there are night cicadas and day cicadas. He wants to know the difference between them. He gets his answer when he hears the same cicada whistling, but this time in the city and the cicada is not an insect but a poor, orphan boy.
