Genesis And The Power Of True Assumptions

We all make assumptions, and the question is to what extent they are true or false. Also, how well do we test our assumptions? Kurt Godel is the most eminent mathematician of the twentieth century. In his Incompleteness Theorems he shows that 1 + 1 = 2 cannot be proven from within the closed system of mathematics. It must first be assumed, then all math works beautifully, and thus physics, engineering, architecture, music, art and other cognate sciences become possible. Yet, there is the greatest assumption to consider, stated in the opening words of Genesis: "In the beginning God created." In these pages we will look at a series of positive assumptions that start in Genesis 1-2 and interpret all the Bible and life. We will gain an overview of the whole Bible, looking at theology, issues of cultural and political conflict, and the deeper reality of spiritual conflict. Perhaps the three most powerful men in the Bible - apart from Jesus as the Son of God and Son of Man - are Moses, Daniel and Paul. They each reflect the deepest grasp of the written Word, they understand pagan religions and politics well, and they know the leading of the Holy Spirit with the signs and wonders that follow.
