This boxset comprises: Alija Izetbegovic: A Short Biography by Sharif H. Banna, On Life, People and Freedom, On Religion and Morality, Political Musings, Islam Between East and West: New Reflections, On Communism and Nazism, Islam, History and Other Observations, From My Children's Letters. Confined to his cell in Foča Prison, Sarajevo, he wrote down philosophical reflections on privacy topics such as freedom, politics, history, religion and morality, filling thirteen notebooks that were smuggled out with the help of a fellow inmate. These notes are presented for the first time as part of a series. Notes from Prison is Alija Izetbegovic’s spiritual escape to freedom and offers a unique read in both form and content. Politician, lawyer and author, Izetbegovic served as the first president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and played a key role in its independence.
