Reuters Handbook for Journalists was compiled by the late Ian Macdowall, whose career with Reuters spanned 33 years as a sub-editor, foreign correspondent, and Chief News Editor. His last journalistic assignment was to adapt the contents of this book, originally written for future journalists, for a wider audience. Intended as a guide for reporters and editors of international news, it deals with the craft of news writing, real-time coverage of politics, economics, wars, and natural disasters, and the whole range of human interest. The book includes an A-Z guide, an appendix with metric and imperial measures, a glossary of technical terms, and business abbreviations.
